| Mamba delivers just under 6 000 tins of food to 6 charities! |
|
During the 2009 Christmas Charity Drive, Mamba started with a new project. The project is called the Food Mountain and is aimed at collecting and building a mountain of tinned food. On the 1st of December 2009, this mountain consisted of just under 6000 tins and other non-perishable foods to the value of R37 000. The tinned food was contributed by Spar Karaglen & it’s Patrons who dropped tins in the red bins placed at the exit of Spar. Mamba employees, with the help the Red Bin Brigade ladies, worked on receiving, collecting & displaying these donations for up to 5 months. These tins were distributed amongst 6 different charity organisations: Little Eden, Edenvale Care Centre, Hospice, Khanyisa Trust Soup Kitchen, Seniour Citizen & Klopperpark Primary Feeding Projects. We at Mamba would like to thank Harry from Spar & Spar Head Office for matching Mamba’s contribution of R10 000’s worth of tins. We would also like to thank the community and all those who sponsored & contributed to the food mountain! Click on images to enlarge
