Employee Benefits

Mamba Employee Fund
Here at Mamba we are aware of how easy it is
to get into debt and with the wrong people. We also understand
how difficult it is to be disciplined enough to save for those
unforeseen incidents in life that can't be planned for so
we decided to give our staff the opportunity of joining a
fund where they can save money together each month and lend
money at extremely low interest rates.
How does it work?
You decide on an affordable amount that you would like to
be saved in your personal employee fund account. This money
gets deducted automatically from your salary and added to
your savings in the fund and you earn interest on your savings.

Medical Aid
As of the 1st of October 2011 the Management of Mamba Strike Force have taken a decision to provide its loyal staff with a Discovery Health Medical Aid. The company will generously cover the full monthly contribution for its employees for the Key Care Plus Plan.
The Key Care Plus Discovery Health plan covers, not only hospital expenses, but doctors visits, specialists, basic dentistry, chronic illness, antenatal care, acute medication, eye care and much more.
We feel that, due to the nature of our business, it is of the utmost importance that, should our staff be injured or fall ill, they have access to the best care available.

Funny Money
Funny Money is an incentive programme that has been introduced by the company to encourage its staff to do their best and reward them for their efforts.
The company spends in excess of R 120 000 annually on this incentive programme which benefits all staff members. The employees voted Top Gun (employee of the month) are taken to a nearby shopping centre and given a budget of R 20 000 to spend on goods, appliances and vouchers that they feel the staff of Mamba, as well as themselves, would be interested in bidding on in an auction. The chosen goods are put on display and the staff then have the opportunity to bid on items with the funny money they have accumulated.
Funny Money is earned by performing your duties to a high standard, supporting company activities and helping with the charity efforts of the company. The staff then earn funny money dollars that are recorded in an electronic account. Statements of funny money accounts are given to staff monthly and they are then allowed to send bids through on any funny money item they choose. The staff member who puts in the highest bid by the randomly chosen cut-off time then wins that item and gets to take it home at the end of the month. Our most popular items over the years have included Laptops, TV’s, Fridges, Washing machines and of course shopping vouchers of up to R 1000.

Massages
The security industry is known as one of the fastest growing and most stressful industries to work for in this country. With one of the highest staff turnover rates in the industry, Mamba realises that our staff are an asset to this company and it is in their best interest, as well as ours, to look after the mental and physical health of our staff.
For this reason, Mamba has set up a fully equipped health and wellness area and employed a qualified therapist to administer treatments to our staff. The treatments include head and shoulder massages, facials, hot rock massages, treatments for the hands and feet and much more. The treatments are intended to help staff to de-stress and feel revitalised, thus enabling them to better perform their duties here at Mamba.

The Mamba Widows and Orphan Fund
As a result of the loss of three Mamba Officers who were killed in the line of duty, the Widow and Orphan fund was opened on 1 September 2003. The purpose of the fund is to financially assist an employee’s spouse and/or children in the event of that staff member being killed whilst on duty from Mamba Strike Force. This financial assistance is intended to be an additional assistance and should not replace any other assistance the family may receive from another source.
The nature of the industry combined with the economic climate and crime rate in South Africa means that unfortunately, the majority of our staff often face real threats of physical harm. Whilst it is not the “norm” to have loss of life of an employee, the company commits to staff that proactive steps are taken to provide for monetary expenses that are incurred in the event of an employee’s untimely death as a result of him/her performing their required work duties.
Any person employed by Mamba Strike Force has the right to join the fund by making a small monthly contribution which is deducted from their salary on a monthly basis. It is our aim to be able to grow the fund to such an extent that we are able to assist families with a lump sum payout when the bread winner of their family is killed in the line of duty that will actually make a difference to the family.

Awards Presentation
Because we believe that our staff are our strength
and as such deserve recognition and rewards for going beyond
what is expected of them. At Mamba we are proud to say that
this is a culture that occurs on a daily basis.
Every month a voting process called Top Gun is instituted to determine who, out of the entire company,
is the best for that month. We nominate and elect a 'Top Gun'
for each department and ultimately an 'Operations Top Gun'
and a 'non-operations Top Gun' are selected.
These two Top Gun winners are invited to join
the 'Best Manager' and the Managing Director for a superb
lunch at Villa Bianca Restaurant and then are taken to Makro
where they have the pleasure of choosing the next months 'Funny
Money' goodies as well as receiving R200 pocket money to spend
on themselves and they each receive extra 'Funny Money'
We also host a bi-annual Awards Presentation (see Adventure Golf Awards Ceremony June 2010),
once in May to celebrate our Birthday, and also in December
together with our year end function. We try to recognize all
the special ways in which our staff have made us the security
company of choice in our area. Some of the prestigious awards
are: All the New People, Long Service Awards, Commendation
Certificates, New Promotions, Best in Department, Leadership
Certificates, Extra Mile Trophy, Promotion in Rank, Project
Award, Best Team Award, Best Operational Area, Best Division,
Bravery Awards, Training Courses Completed, Manager's Choice,
etc. These awards are all linked to incentives and even salary
increases for the winners. It is our way of saying to our
staff that what they do does not go unnoticed and that we
do appreciate their efforts.
The day is always packed with exciting activities
and festivities as all the staff wait anxiously to see if
they are the one person who has stood out amongst their peers
over the last six months. All achievements, individual and
group, are celebrated to remind everyone why we are the best
little security company in South Africa.
