Success
for the Edenvale Mini Oscars
Saturday the 14th of March saw Ster Kinekor
Greenstone come to life with the Edenglen Drum Majorettes,
"The Blues," putting on a spectacular show
as they led our 125 Oscar nominees from the grass verge
into the heart of Greenstone Shopping Centre.
The nominees from 13 different schools,
all dressed in their specially designed "Oscar
Nominee" T-shirts sponsored by Mamba, were glowing
with excitement and anticipation to see which of them
would walk away with one of the twenty coveted Oscar
trophies up for grabs. The budding little stars were
judged in over 10 categories and would finally receive
recognition for their talent and effort in their school
productions.

The children were entertained by the awesome
dancing of Hailey Bennett from Strictly Come Dancing
and singing from up and coming star, Marene' van Tonder.
Our host, the hunky Matt Ruscoe, did a fantastic job
wooing the children as well as their mothers and made
our 3rd Annual Mini Oscars our best one yet.
We would like to say a special thank you
to everyone who helped make this event the success it
was. To our performers - Matt, Hailey, Marene' and our
dancers Metzi, from Kidz Kingdom and Dimpho from Lulu
Pops. Our Presenters - Barry Munro and Jonathan Hendricks
of Mamba; Phili, the PRO for Greenstone; Mr. Louw Van
Zyl, Manager of Ster Kinekor and Marene' Van Tonder.
A special thanks also to Carol and Greg Lloyd for the
Power Point display, Gabbi Lloyd for the trophies, Ryan,
Kobus and Kelly Bass for the programs, Belinda Bass
and the staff of Kodak for the photography, all the
staff of Mamba for their help and support and Mary Joy
of Ster Kinekor for the Oscars and red carpet.
