| It
was felt that through the annual Christmas
Charity Drive Mamba was helping many, many children in our area and it would
be so nice to be able to also do something for the more mature members in our
community.
A think tank was held
and all agreed that it should be something that assisted both financially and
intellectually. We found the perfect solution the Red
Bin Brigade born in 2004! The
Red Bin Brigade is a Section 21, non profit organization, made up of a group of
the more mature members of our community who assist Mamba with raising money for
our local needy organizations and have also launched their own very successful
events.
Amongst
other things, members of the Red Bin Brigade help by collecting money and groceries
at shopping centers to assist local food kitchens and feeding schemes.
Every
year the Red Bin Brigade members also assist the employees of Mamba Strike Force
to seek out and identify countless sponsors to ensure the success of our Edenvale
Christmas Charity Drive.
Sponsors
are required for so many needed items and also for the sponsorship of the Red
Wheelie Bins used to collect all the goods from local schools and deliver them
to the various benefactors. Companies are asked to sponsor bins at R500 each and
may supply corporate stickers for their bins. The
money collected all goes to help local charity organizations.
The
Red Bin Brigade has very successfully completed a third annual Edenvale Mini Oscar
Awards, recognizing the efforts of local children in school plays, etc.
The
most recent Edenvale Mini Oscar Awards was held at SterKinekor at Greenstone Shopping
Mall. Approximately 25 schools competed for the coveted Oscar trophys, many
generous suppliers made it possible to hand over large amounts of money to Edenvale
Care Centre. If
you know of any more mature members in our community who would be
interested in making new friends, having fun, and supporting those in our community
who are less fortunate than ourselves, and would like to receive their security
service from Mamba at no charge Get them to call Dominique at Mamba on (011)
609-0237 for more information. |
