Here are some alternative behaviors you may wish to consider, should you be attacked or abducted:

1. Remember, your elbow is the strongest part of your body.  If you are close enough to use it – do.
2. If your attacker asks for your wallet or purse, do not hand it to him, but throw it away and run in the opposite direction.  In most cases, the attacker will pick up the wallet or purse first, giving you time to get away.
3. If you are ever locked in the boot of a car, kick out the tail lights and start waving your arms wildly through the gaps created in the boot.  The driver won’t see you but other people will.
4. Check the back and front of your vehicle, if it has been parked, before climbing into your car.  Don’t sit in a stationary vehicle in the parking lot, as an attacker can take advantage of such a situation and climb into your passenger seat.
5. If an attacker gets into your vehicle and tells you to drive somewhere, start the engine and speed into the nearest object, then get out and run.  Your airbag will save you and your attacker will have lost control of the situation.
